SCHOOL PROFILE
Sto. Niño Senior High School is the only public stand-alone Senior High School in the Schools Division of Parañaque. Its official name is “Senior High School within Sto. Niño Elementary School”, which is located at the heart of Barangay Sto. Niño. Its current address is at J.P. Rizal St., Brgy. Sto. Niño, Parañaque City.
CURRICULUM
Sto. Niño Senior High School follows the K-12 Curriculum of the Department of Education. The school offers two strands of the Academic Track.
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Strand
- General Academic Strand
As of School Year 2020 – 2021, we have three sections of Grade 11 (one is for STEM, two are for GAS), and two sections of Grade 12 (two are for GAS).

Community
- The residents of Barangay Sto. Nino come from a wide range of economic status ranging from informal settlers in the low income group, a sizable middle income group to an influential high income group. There are no major industries found within the barangay but there are a number brokerages, forwarders and warehouses operating along the Ninoy Aquino Avenue. This kind of business came about due to the proximity of the barangay to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). The airport has been a lifeline for many of the residents. Consumer businesses abound also in different areas and are strategically located along roads and major streets. These include small grocery stores, restaurants, fast-food chains and small wet markets. Small and medium businesses are also found in the same areas usually covering basic services and electronic shops. These businesses serve as a good source of revenue for the barangay council.
- Barangay Sto. Nino is a densely populated, closed semi-urban community with a mixed native and migrant population. A fraction of the residents are natives most of whom came from families or clans of adjoining barangays of the former “poblacion” or the old town proper, namely Barangay Don Galo, Barangay La Huerta and Barangay San Dionisio. However, majority of the residents are descendants of migrants from Central Visayan and Southern Luzon areas who have come over to settle during the early industrialization period of Paranaque in the late 60’s and early 70’s. The population ballooned to its current size after the completion of the Ninoy Aquino Avenue which provided better access to the barangay.
Barangay Sto. Nino is part of the First (Political) District of Paranaque. It is close associated with the old town proper due to its proximity to nearby old barangays. There are three known “sitios” or areas, namely, Ilaya, Wawa and Kaingin. It has a well-organized barangay council under the able leadership of its recently elected barangay executive, the Hon. Johnny Camposano Co assisted by eight “kagawads” or councilmen. The barangay council, as a local government unit, directly serves the interest and welfare of the constituents.
Politics does not have a high stake in the barangay because of the cosmopolitan make-up of the population. Political loyalties normally shift from time to time depending on the overall condition in the city of Paranaque. The old families or clans are the ones who are usually identified or associated with the different political clans of the city through old “alliances” and affinity by consanguinity. Majority of the voters come to choose their own candidates based on influence and persuasions especially those living along the outlying areas of the barangay like Sitio Kaingin, the banks of the Paranaque River and areas at the far end of Sitio Ilaya bordering Pasay City.
